Eight Trigrams (C102), Race 3
Had lameness issues in October but has been moving in the right direction with eight smooth gallops. He looked ready after a competitive gallop with Big Bully on Monday. The David Hall-trained four-year-old always travelled better than his stablemate, who was pushed to make up ground. His two trials have been good and should make his presence felt in race three over 1,200m.
Dr Respect (C129), Race 5
You will never see trainer John Size getting his horses to do much in the mornings but he has got Dr Respect going well once again. The five-year-old responded well in seven gallops to go along with five steady pieces. Dr Respect has had the benefit of an all-weather track barrier trial and looks in fine fettle now. He is yet to win from five starts but that could all change tonight in race five (1,200m).
Nordic Warrior (B371), Race 9
This sprinter has been threatening to win one this season and his four gallops suggest he can get back on track in race nine (1,200m). The Richard Gibson-trained four-year-old, who is a one-time course and distance winner, moved fluently each time and had the better of his stablemate Harmony Hero in a good piece of work.
