The Trackman

THE TRACKMAN: Happy Valley, December 4

The Trackman gives us his horses to watch for Wednesday's meeting

Farm Bumper (C244), Race 1.

We start the night with a Class 5 special and this guy has done everything right ahead of this start. Is ready to win after a nice barrier trial at this course and following five good hit outs, including when matched up with Jade Fortune last Saturday. The Manfred Man-trained four-year-old hasn’t disgraced in three runs at Sha Tin this season and is sporting tongue tie for the first time, which he had in the trial.

El Jefe (C466), Race 3.

El Jefe will be sporting blinkers for the first time and is the one they will all have to beat in race three over 1,200m.  Has improved further from nine gallops and two barrier trials, winning the latest at this course. The New Zealand-bred four-year-old looks spot on in his action and in fitness. He closed off well over 1,000m at Sha Tin first up to suggest he needs more ground and he gets it this time.

Happy Good Guys (B466), Race 4

Happy Good Guys was full of himself when giving recent Sha Tin winner Villa Fionn a galloping lesson on the turf on November 7, winning by miles. He led in the piece by a length but kept going to impress the track watchers. Trainer Ricky Yiu is having a good season and he has got this fellow spot on to win in race 4 over 1000m – the first leg of the International Jockeys’ Championship.
